Also known as: Jazz Funk, MTV Commercial

Dance category based on jazz technique (that has evolved from ballet technique) in combination with club and/or street styles to form a style that has natural appeal to “diva” sensibilities and exude lots of femininity.

Foundationals from jazz dance: well-maintained posture/body alignment (the rotation of the legs from the hip so that the feet are facing outward, known as “turnout”), centered upper-body, extension in the arms and legs, syncopation (off beat)

Foundationals from club and street dances: (waacking) quick, precise and rhythmic arm movements, paused stances and sophisticated footwork, (voguing) angular, striking poses, fluid transitions, and intricate hand movements, (hip hop) groove – bounce, rock, roll

For the teams to score higer points in the “dance technique” parameter in street jazz category, choreography needs to contain foundationals from jazz dance mixed with foundationals from at least one club or street dance suggested.

Examples of the artists: Janet Jackson, Madonna i Britney Spears, Beyonce, Paula Abdul, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani

* If a routine is registered and performs in an incorrect discipline as declared by the judges, it will be judged by the rules of the discipline it was registered in and will then be moved to the correct discipline. There won’t be a deduction of points.
